I need an external firewire 40 GB+ hard drive for Mac. I do not want to
pay a lot of money and would be TOTALLY happy with a used one - so long
as it's working. I already have an OWC work drive which I like quite a
bit, but they are expensive when new and hard to find used.

Any thoughts on where to buy? I've tried Craigslist and Recycler here
in L.A. but pickin's are slim right now.

Also, is there any LEGAL way to obtain a copy of system 10.2.8 for the
Mac? Turns out my cards are so old they will not run on my current
system (10.3.5) and I'm sick and tired of throwing money at Apple
(already bought 2 new systems from them. Ugh.)

I'll use the new drive to boot from (with 10.2.8 installed) so that I
needn't "dumb down" my resident system which, finally, seems to be
calming down my rather ornery G4.

Thanks, RAP-bros.,

Awe

Take a look at the LaCie's (www.lacie.com). Good products.
