Hello,
I've been wanting to purchase a new computer, and I have a memory dilemma.
I'm going for the Gigabyte 8SQ800 Ultra with a Sis655 chipset, which supports a Dual Channel DDR port up to PC3200 DDR 400 Mhz.
What I want to know is what kind of memory should I put in my system:
DDR400, 256MB X2 (Dual Channel DDR)=512MB DDR 400
Or DDR333 512MB X2 (Dual Channel DDR)=1024MB DDR 333
Both come to the total of the same price, and same manufacture.

Is the difference really so noticeable that I should go for more speed and less size, or should I stick to ddr333 and get more size worth of memory with less speed to it?

I'd go with 512 MB Dual DDR 400. 512 Mb is plenty. When 800MHz FSB boards appear you'll be able to upgrade using the same memory.

I like <A HREF="http://www.corsairmicro.com/main/PR_twinx.html" target="_new">these sticks</A>.
