Hi,
I've got a keyboard Yamaha DGX which does not have the mic input
If I connect an USB microphone to the USB port, will it record the mic
input?
Thanks

There are such things but the ones i've heard are horrible.
Eg: Sony and other game makers have usb microphones for gaming and
karaoke.
Most of those webcams have a microphone built in.
They all have dropouts and the webcam ones sound like you're inside an
empty 45 gallon drum.

There are such things, and at the NAMM show, BLUE introduced one
that's actually of musical quality, not simply designed for Internet
voice chat or game playing.
However, without knowing anything about the keyboard, I'd guess that
its USB port was a MIDI interface and is not there to accommodate a
microphone. If the original poster read the instruction manual, he'd
probably know this. And if it's one of those drug store keyboards that
doesn't come with instructions, then surely it won't serve as a mic
input.

Wonder how they manage gain.

If your USB mics' converters have enough dynamic range, you can manage gain
in the PC. If they don't, you can model the USB mic as a input on a USB
sound card, one with its own gain control.

Right. All kinds of ways it _could_ be done. I'm wondering
how it actually _is_ done.
