i've got a poineer DVD-119, if i pop in a dvd i can't get intervideo windvd or cyberlink power dvd to play, (the reion code is invalid, at the moment the code is set at canada but i live in belgium so it has to be set for europe, the thing is when i do this windows says i can't or i'm not authorised (you can change the region 5 times before it locks and it says i have 4 times left so i guess thats not the problem) i just put together the sytem on friday so maybe i connected something wrond, although when i open the dvd in windows mediaplayer it opens just fine
you could have a look around online for region free patches for both the drive and the windvd software... that migh help.

Your DVD drive was originally set to region 1 (I believe Canada and USA are region 1) in its firmware. So if you want to play discs from other regions, say Europe (which is region 2), you need to change the region setting of your drive to either region 2 or region free. I prefer the latter. This site contains the region free patches for most DVD drives.
Unfortunately, if you enter the above link, you'll find no patch is available for your DVD-119 yet. However, you can use DVD Region free as suggested there. It's a utility that allows your region-1 drive to play discs from any region.
