I know it's bad timing to sell a 2" 24 track machine right now, but the
wife says it's got to go, and she's the boss! We're moving and that
makes it good timing for us. My loss is your gain. $6,000 for the MCI
JH-24 with Autolocator III, the Speck SSM + Expander + Assign 28, and
the nearly new TT patchbay and cabling which connects them together.
The 24 track machine has just been tweaked to perfection by MCI
tech-guru Charlie Bolis, and Vince at Speck is currently doing the same
to the SSM desk. So the stuff will be ready to wheel into your studio,
power up, and record. For anyone tired of digital and wishing they
could go analog, this is about as painless as you're gonna get. For
your wallet, too!
For those unfamiliar with Speck gear, try Googling rec.audio.pro
for all the rave reviews. Basically, Speck is known for very high
quality, quiet, transparent signal routing. Add your own vintage
outboard gear for whatever flavor of coloring you prefer.
My SSM desk is kind of the predecessor to the current Speck "LiLo"
mixer, which you can check out at <www.speckelectronics.com> The SSM
has a more extensive Master section than the LiLo, as well as a very
nice 2 band sweepable EQ on each of the Fader channels. There are 23
mono fader channels, 5 stereo faders, 8 Aux Sends, 8 Busses, 8 stereo
Aux returns, talkback, headphone volume, etc. all in a small but not
cramped 37" x 17" footprint. Like the LiLo, there are no mic pres,
just very clean signal routing.
I've mounted it with cherry Mahogany endpieces, like the old Neve
"drop-through" desks. Very elegant looking; people sometimes mistake
it for a Neve at first glance. Email me for pictures and more details.
I'm in Los Angeles, CA, so a buyer within driving distance makes
the most sense. I'd rather sell everything as a package, but will
consider splitting them up. I figured I'd give you guys a shot before
putting this stuff on eBay.
Cheers, Rick Novak. <snovak2@earthlink.net>
The MCI JH-24 with Autolocator III, just been tweaked to perfection by
MCI
tech-guru Charlie Bolis, is still available for $3,000.
