Thank you for responding Brett92852. Please allow me to clarify. The hdd that I recently installed in my new laptop is from my old laptop and it already has windows 7 OS on it. I'm trying to get it to boot so that I can utilize files that I don't have on the primary hdd.

Hi :)

Umm you cannot BOOT from it but you should be able to see its files...when you BOOT from the first drive...

The only way you could boot from it is IF both laptops (old and new) were TOTALLY identical...models, make hardware etc,,,,

All the best Brett :)
