Should I upgrade to DirectX 9.0? Now none of my components and games are running on DirectX 9.0 and I can't even install my WinFast TV2000 XP driver with DirectX 9.0 present. Any comment?
My specs:
AMD Athlon XP 2600+
Asus A7N8X Deluxe
Kingston PC2700 ValueRAM CL2.5 256MB x2
Hercules 3D Prophet 9700 Pro
Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 8MB cache 80GB
Asus DVD-E616

My PC has gone to hell... because it's a killing machine...

Well your vid card was deisgned to use DX9 to its fullest, but i think you answered your own question. IF your WinFast doesn't support it, then why use it ? Besides, until the need arrises, with games that actually require DX9 instead of suggest it, don't fix somethin that ain't broke.

You MUST have it! Don't you want to run 3DMark03????
If the answer is "no," or "I don't care," then it doesn't really matter if you have DX 9.0 right now.

I got to agree with error 911 here. No matter what new programs are out there, if it's not broke, don't fix it, especially if you can't capture tv with it

It's all good ^_^

If you don't need it yet don't install it. You wont get any performance gain unless you use DirectX 9 programs.

My dual-PSU PC is so powerfull that the neighbourhood dims when I turn it on
