I haven't had any trouble with calls while driving through there on
Hwy 14 on the way to the 395 to Bishop. But Sprint's native signal
does end just South of Mojave and then it's roaming from there.

I live on Highway 18 in Apple Valley, 90 miles east of there. We've visited
out there and been fine. Coverage is good in the Antelope Valley, in town,
but I didn't bother checking coverage in the no-man's-land between there and
Victorville/Apple Valley last time we were there. (Should be decent, I just
don't know for sure.)
