I'm finding that the volume on the Midi ringers is, on average, louder
than the QCP (compressed WAV) ringers on my Samsung. Might be due to the
compression.

There are ways to tweak the QCPs to make them louder, though.

There are a couple of freeware programs that let you
manipulate midi files, including increase the volume. I'm not terribly
familiar with them myself, but for instance "Anvil Studio" is freeware
that I think will let you do that. It's a bit of work, but may be
worth the time spent.

try 3gupload.com for ringers, screensavers, and games.

There is a fee, but you get unlimited downloads for a year.
