how do i install mail client on my computer so i can respond to items on craigslist

A mail client is program that runs email for you.
One good email program is Windows Live Mail and it's free.

Your Internet Service Provider will have instructions on how to set the program up on it's web site.

Live Mail comes along with some other free software called Windows Live Essentials.
You'll have a choice to pick and choose which of those programs you actually want to install.
