I booted up today to find I had no Optical Drives. The HP CD writer and New LiteOn DVD ROM weren't detected in the Bios and windows.

Whenever I power down the HP CD-RW the DVD ROM is detected on bootup. I have tried changing the IDE cable and no difference. Is it possible that this was caused by the CD Eject software that I was using because my drives are stealthed??? I also only just installed this software????

Is my HP recoverable, its a crap one so no big deal if not. Or is it possibly a conflict with my new DVD ROM. Allthough saying that it doesn't work if I power down the DVD drive???

Is it knackered, and what might of caused it??

Cheers

does the hp drive work if its by itself? if it doesnt then that is your problem. the bios and windows is haveing trouble detecting the hp drive and therefore doesnt detect either one.
if u cant get the hp to work at all in your system or someone elses i would just buy a new one. Maybe a dvd/cdrw drive or a dvd burner that does cdrws
