Does sprint offer a pre-paid account? Or a very very cheap plan, like $5/mo?
I'm asking because I just upgraded my LG 5250 to a VGA 1000, and if I can
get a pre-paid account for the LG, I'd give it to my grandma so she could
call someone if she has car trouble, or such. If not I'm going to ebay it
all.

Thanks
Bryan

Prepaid Virgin Mobile does not use SprintPCS mobile. Horizon prepaid system
is able to use Horizon mobile.

In the USA, Virgin most certainly DOES use Sprint's network. Obviously not
in other countries, since Sprint is exclusively a US carrier.

I don't think that is what he meant. I read it as, you can not
use a Sprint PCS phone (mobile) on Virgin's service. It has to be a
Virgin phone (mobile). You also can not use a Virgin mobile on Sprint
PCS' service.

only problem with Virgin wireless is there is no roaming, if your off the
Sprint network, can't use phone at all. Might want to get Grandma a trac
phone or other pre paid. See Target has ATT prepaid phones now

From what I read on Virgin's site. that appears to be correct. And as my
original question was can I use my old Sprint PCS LG 5250 phone as a
pre-paid phone, the apparent answer is no, I must buy a new Virgin phone.

Thanks for the info everyone.
