Hey all,

I have win2k pro already. Is there a reason to upgrade to xp? does anyone foresee serious compatibility issues for instance, in multimedia apps like Photoshop (and especially 3d apps like Alias|Wavefront's Maya)? Particularly, how well does the xp compatibility emulation work? I'm worried that Maya won't function well, specifically, since it's designed solely for win2k. any help is greatly appreciated.

If you wanta spend the money, Maya Unlimited runs fine on my XP pro. There is no pressing issue to switch from 2k to XP unless you got money to spend or a free copy of it.

At this time I would stay with 2000. I have both and if you want eye candy, go with XP.
It is always better to wait for the first SP patch to upgrade unless you have a very old OS.
