A friend of mine cancelled a defrag on one of his partitions (in Win XP) and now his PC takes about an hour to boot up before it freezes (lol). I tried putting it into my PC, but it could only read the partition that has XP on, not the other one with all the important stuff. I tried to use file scavenger to restore the partition but it just froze up. Is there a way to get the data back?

You can easily get Winternals with P2P. I was sure you could download a trial from their website also, but cracks were probably so numerous for that they stopped it.
