hi there,

can someone tell me the way to create track markers within a continous
soundfile on a cd. for example - can i make regions in protools that
will be repected as separate tracks in toast or something? i tried
cutting the tracks and burning them with no time between tracks in
itunes - but there are skips between them. it isn't smooth enough. or
if someone knows of a link to some information on this, it would be
appreciated. ibook, osx.3

thanks,
devon armstrong

If you have toast, then go to www.bias-inc.com and get Peak. It'll run
14 days as a full-featured demo. You can mark all your regions in it,
then export them as separate files which you can bring into Toast, set
to zero time between.

iTunes, IME, doesn't insert time if you tell it not to. That's why I'm
suggesting Peak, it sounds like ProTolls may be not giving you what you
want.

the other way of doing it is to seperate regions in protools exactly where
you want the ids. Run a consolidation of each "region". This will create
new files, each of the length of each id. Then (assuming you have Jam since
you have toast) import the files (dual stereo tracks) into Jam and make sure
there is no space or time between each id.

Download a copy of CDRWIN from http://www.goldenhawk.com/ It allows
you to write a cue sheet that defines where you want track IDs and
puts them there without any audio editing.

It doesn't seem to have an OSX version.
