Laptop not connecting to wireless.

I have a netgear router. I have my kindle, 2 laptops, and a net book that are on the network. I bought my husband a "new" laptop. It will not accept the password in alphabet form. HELP

It's correct name is a "Wireless Key" not a password, and it usually a string of letters and numbers, not just letters. Furthermore its case-sensitive, which means you must type lowercase or uppercase letters as appropriate to exactly match the key as it appears in your router configuration utility.

You might be typing uppercase when they should be lowercase, or vice versa.
