Hey,
I was wondering if there is a perpheral or some sort of docking station that i would be able to transfer files directly from one hard drive to the other just by connecting them with some sort of cord? or a station?

not sure...
Thx.

Just set up a peer-to-peer network between the two machines. Most computer stores actually sell kits (nic cards, cables etc.) for just this purpose.

You can also use "Direct Cable Connection" networking with a special cable connected to your parallell (printer) ports but I've never had much experience with it.

If two of yours computer had USB port, this cable is a easy way to go, check this link: http://shop.store.yahoo.com/iwin2win/usfiltrancab.html

There is another way using USB port but you need to purchase a special kind of USB cable named Lap link cable and a software for this then you can hook up two system in minutes. You can try to look for the detail online.

My PC has gone to hell... because it's a killing machine...

As the first person suggested a network would be good. I recommend just setting up a network between the 2 machines.

I've tried the USB laplink trick. Unless both machines are equipped with USB2 hardware it is painfully ssssslllllooooowwwwww.... but it does work.

RJ-45 plugs on a 10 foot cat5 x-over cable (per foot is cheap so get longer if needed), each box with a nic card, little help from somebody who got a clue about the settings and you're good to go. fast, cheap and blue is in :)
