Usually, there is enough power in the battery to power it up right away.
If the power is plugged in and it is charging, it definitely SHOULD
power up right way. If you are not able to get it to power up (END
key), try disconnecting the power and removing the battery for 20
seconds or so. Put the battery back in and try to power it on.

Hang in there, even if you somehow have a defective phone, I guarentee
you will love this phone, so don't give up on it.
