I've Googled but haven't found an answer then I found this group. I've been
playing Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2003 for about 6 months now (bought an EA Sports
Pack for cheap) and recently ran into a weird problem. Last Saturday when I
tried to play it I got an error message, something like ","This application has
failed to start because <unknown>.dll was not found. Re-installing the
application may fix this problem." (Sorry I don't know the name of the .dll
file because my problem has gotten worse and I no longer get that particular
error message.) I didn't feel like dealing with the problem at that time so I
left it.
Now I see that the desktop shortcut icon is gone, but another games icon (my
kid's Spongebob game) shows the Spongebob icon graphic but the description
underneath is Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2003. I deleted that icon and I decided to
restore the Tiger Woods icon so I navigated to the EA Sports folder (Start, All
Programs, EA Sports) but the Tiger Woods folder is no longer there, in fact,
another program Backyard Baseball is now in its place. However, if I click
Start, My Computer, Local drive C, Program Files, EASports, the Tiger Woods
folder is there BUT I've searched every folder and subfolder but nowhere do I
see the shortcut icon or the .exe file that would launch the program.
Does anybody know what is going on?
I run Spybot Search and Destroy and Lavasoft Ad-Aware once a week and have been
doing so for months with no ill effects so I don't think that is it. I also
have Norton AV 2004 running.
