Good morning.

I am doing my first PC from parts. I have an Epox KHA+, a new HD and WIN98SE. After formating and installing the OS, I update the system with the VIA 4-1 drivers (comes with the Epox). After installing I reboot the computer and ... surprise! It runs really slow, it takes 10 minutes just to show the windows desktop, and everything goes horribly slow. Just one thing, curiosly if I already open one program (like the windows explorer), it opens quickly, like if doing for second or more times is "really easy" for the system. Any idea about what is going on? What is the problem with the VIA drivers? Maybe it is something about W98 that uses twice drivers for the same thing, I don't know.

Try using the latest 4 in 1 drivers from Via.. they're up to version 4.38 or something like that now.
