This is a full-range tube parametric EQ built to very high standards. You
can read all about it on the Sweetwater Sound websight, where they list for
$3400+ and sell for $2900+. In other words, a REAL piece of gear. In
addition, this is an earlier Dave Hill-era unit, before he left the company
and, rumor has it, part quality went down some.

If it's a Dave Hill era unit then it's a great piece!! ...assuming
it's working properly, $2k is an excellent price.
What I find really amusing is that the "Audiobanter Nanny Filter" found
the word t-w-a-t in the middle of Sweet-w-a-ter and turned it into ****

Kids getting old enough to surf the net unsupervised, eh?
The Mackie forum used to filter "cock" out of "cockpit trouble." So
far, it's still allowing "horse" and "manure" so I'm able to get
certain points across.

I've owned one of these for ages, and use it on most mixes to get the
lead vocal juuuuust right. I just had the pilot light go out on mine,
gotta call Summit for a replacement.
I also have the stereo EQP-200 and it contains some magical properties.

I have the mono version, the EQP(ultec)-100, which I guess they didn't make
many of, and I agree, it's a very fun box! I'd love to have the stereo
version. I run things through it when I want them to come out sounding
bigger... certainly not a surgical EQ <g>! Unlike the EQF(ull)-100.
I think the EQF100 works so well on voice because it's just so dry and
clean. Voice is one of those things you can't mess with too much without
the listener noticing, and too many EQ's have resonances just sort of built
in.
The EQF100 is also one of the few EQ's I've used that won't mess up an
acoustic guitar sound... acoustic guitars usually have the tendancy to sound
"phasey" anyway, what with multiple mics and/or the peformer moving around
etc, so any notchy nocky-sounding stuff that an EQ has, and most do, is
usually really apparant... anyway with the EQF you can fish around and not
always just be fighting the peaks and valleys of the EQ itself, if that
makes any sense.
Why am I selling this again? Someone remind me <G>.
