This is the 13th season we are getting ready for our Computer Baseball
Simulation league.
This is NOT a money league, but rather a hobby group of baseball
enthusiasts who love the strategy of managing a team and acting as
"General Manager" and playing their teams online each week of the
regular season (it only takes a little over 1 hour to play a series).
It's a tremendous hobby and a lot of fun and very intense. There are
free agents, contract signings, rookie drafts...the works.
If you love baseball, I can't imagine a better hobby.
We use a program called Diamond Mind Baseball (I am NOT affiliated with
the company, I'm just a customer).

This is strategy based game, designed after dice/board games like
Strato-matic or APBA baseball. You don't use a joystick or control
graphics of players. All the stats are generated by the software and
the program is incredible.
Every 3 years our league meets in-person for our Winter Meetings and
the next one is going to be at Miller Park in Milwaukee (we've rented a
suite) on SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 12 (8:30am).
Half of the owners are based out of the Milwaukee and Chicago areas,
but the other half are from various parts of the country and everybody
will be traveling to Milwaukee for the winter meeting. The next host
city will be Philadelphia, PA in Feb of 2008.
During the Non "In-Person" years, we simply conduct our drafts and
auctions online.
After doing traditional rotisserie and fantasy leagues for many years,
I can honestly say that this is MUCH more fun and has held the
interests of many "owners" for years and years. And it's not even a
gambling league!
