help!!!!!! cd burner dont work

I have a philups cd wrighter, i instealed all of the drivers and had it up and running just find till now, i cant even get it to read a cd and when i put one in it make a "Clicking" noise. What can i do to fix it?

Does the drive show up in the device profile page? Does it appear ok? what sort of disks are you trying? have you tried a couple of different types?

If it was working before and you changed nothing...and it's making an awful clicking noise...probably bad drive...time to buy a new one.

If u can return it for an exchange.
If its out of warrenty u can try opening the case and manually move the laser assembly. It may have gotten knocked off track. In the process with the cover off put a cd in u dont care about and see what happens. Could also be the drive assembly isnt working.

Try cleaning the laser
