A lot of phones bounced backwards a month or two right as I
left SPCS. I speculate that the rollout of EV-DO might
have something to do with that. But, again, that's just
speculation.

I was at SprintPCS tonight to cash in my third defective I-500 hoping for an
upgrade (??) to the I-600. The Sprint guy said that they were promised that
the new I-600 would be ready in two weeks...........three weeks ago.

the notion that an I-600 would be an upgrade from an I-500 is questionable at
best. you are aware that the I-600 doesn't even have a touch-sensitive
screen... also I believe it is single mode, digital only, so no analog
roamning.

None of the data I have seen thus far from Samsung says anything about a
touch-sensitive screen. Speaker phone it has as well as the illusive caller
ID on the outside. The Verizon version has an sd memory i/o slot, ability to
add ringers (yawn) and runs on the Windows Mobile TM operating system. Since
my relo to Chicago, I have no longer a need for the analog roam feature of
the I-500.
The Sprint guy suggested that to me that their I-600 was an I-500 plus the
camera, speaker phone and Media player .
What we all can confirm is that at best, we don't know what Sprint (probably
neither does SprintPCS) is going to release or in fact, there will be an
I-600 release at all.
