Freelancer Performance Issues

Hi.

I've recently started experiencing performance issues with Microsoft
Freelancer.

For some reason, the graphics seem to jump during the game, as do the menus
when they slide from the side of the screen at the main menu. As a result of
this jumping, the gameplay is very slow and the ships are very hard to
manoeuvre.

I've seen the article on the Microsoft website about improving the
performance of games, but have so far had no luck.

If it's any help, I'm using Windows XP Home Edition.

I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, and adjusting the
graphic quality, screen resolution and music settings, all to no avail.

Any advice would really be appreciated.
