PMC LB 1 Pro Monitor transmission line loudspeakers are suitable for
nearfield applications or where full range reference monitoring is required
and when space is at a premium, such as on live recording trucks and in
small control rooms. The LB1 uses two high-quality low coloration drivers,
capable of sustaining massive transient power peaks without compression.
Transmission line design
LB1 's bass driver is mounted at the mouth of a long tapered line damped
with an acoustic absorbent, whilst the other end terminates in a port which
at low frequencies radiates as a piston. As the frequency is lowered,
control on the driver is increased, resulting in a system capable of higher
SPL's than the equivalent ported design. This ensures operation within the
drivers linear range and reduces low frequency distortion and coloration.
All PMC's transmission line monitors retain their bass end balance and
quality irrespective of level.

Condition is excellent electro-acoustically, with minor cosmetic dings to the
black oak finish that have been touched up. There are grilles with these if
you want them, but on both grilles, the grille cloth wrap has come unglued
from the frame at the top. If you need to use grilles and you don't want to
repair these, new grilles are available from the importer, Bryston Ltd.
