Stat based football game

My dad tried a few of the baseball sims, but finds he enjoys stat based
games much more. He has been playing Baseball Mogul quite a bit. He really
enjoys the deep historical database with real-life players and teams (he was
born in '31.) Now he's looking for a football game, similar style. If
Football Mogul exists (too lazy too look yet) that would be the logical
choice, but I wouldn't know if it's as good as the baseball one. He'd also
be willing to try something from a different company. Any recommendations!
Nothing with a gigantic learning curve.

There is a Football Mogul from the same company. I have no
idea if it's any good or not. http://www.footballmogul.com/

I don't know anything about Baseball Mogul but Strat-O-Matic Football
is a stat based football game which features strategy, NFL player cards
and ratings, solo play against competitive computer managers, and
head-to-head play live against online opponents. There isn't in my
view a gigantic learning curve playing against the computer as you can
play of course at your own pace.

If you are interested in knowing more feel free to post here and I will
respond or at the Strat forums at www.stratfanforum.com. The game can
be purchased at www.strat-o-matic.com. I play about 75 online games
per year and can't get enough.

Here is another one you should consider - http://www.dksports.com

Action PC Football. I own Action and Strat-o-Matic and consider Action
the better of the two.

Jeff - One of the things you could help us with so we could help you is to
detail what aspects of Baseball Mogul your dad enjoys. Does he enjoy the
games themselves or does he also enjoy the GM aspect of the contract
signings, etc?

More the games and players than the GM aspects.
