dvd playback only shows part of the picture?

I've dug around here and haven't found the fix to this problem... When I try to play a DVD, it only shows the upper right 3/4 of the picture. I get the feeling this is a codec thing or a driver thing, but I'm not sure where to go with it. After the problem I installed MediaPlayer 9 (for XP) which didn't help. I've tried to use PowerDVD 4.0 - same scene (no pun intended ).

have you tryed power dvd xp? that may help with all updates !!!

It was a video driver thing.. I had to revert back to the standard VGA drivers for XP to get it to work.. now I just need to see if I can get some newer driver to work..
