In this review it seems that this drive is by far the best desktop drive available right now since it left WD 100GB SE drive almost 25% behind. Does anyone know if this is true? Is the new Maxtor's HDD really this fast? I'm sure that this was not the case with the PATA version of this drive though!
If this is the case, I see no point besides the 1-year warranty for not choosing this drive. And in fact, the performance difference is that big that I think I can live without WD's 3-year warranty!
Not sure if this is true or not. Haven't seen many other reviews out there. But it's not fair to compare a SATA HD (Maxtor DM+9) with a PATA HD (WD 100SE).
