Most cell phones will do that occasionally. After all, it's electronics and
generates heat. If you find you are going to have a lengthy phone call, you
might want to think about using a hands free device.

As for uploading your phone book, there are three main programs that can do
that, depending on whether they support your model. Two are for sale and one
is freeware that this time. Check these sites to see whether your phone
model is supported.
