Would anyone know where I can find a Technics RS-AZ7 cassette deck and
whether it is even being manufactured any longer?
I have searched high and wide and have not been able to find any leads.
Some favorable comments here prompted the search in the first place. I
have lots of cassettes of original material and live shows that I
haven't listened to since my last cassette player/recorder died (a Sony
Walkman Pro, actually) and I really want to a) give them a listen again
and b) salvage them to digital (ha!) before the tapes go to hell
(assuming they haven't already - most have gathered some dust, none
have been played or wound for years).

You might find one on Ebay, but I doubt you'll find a working one. Given
that cassette decks are basically not worth anything much on the used market,
though, you might as well just go with something like the Nak or a high
end Sony, or something else with easy azimuth control on the front panel.
There's no reason to buy anything less than a top-shelf machine because
they all pretty much cost about the same anyway.
