Except 9 lives is not enough.
I can't beat the second boss on the first level...

I passed those mario hidden worlds whatever and that was enough to last me a lifetime.

Yeah, Lost Worlds. Damn that game rocked. And yeah, aside from the A-B-C-D levels, you also had the secret 9th world, which was completely F'ed up. They prolly were drunk when they made them, cuz the underwater world had turtles with wings and Bowser's castle at the end.
I still don't know how you access it for sure. It seems sometimes when you beat the 8th world (Bowser's real castle), you can either go to A world or the 9th. Gotta find out what triggers it.
I always lose a life when the first boss shoots his beam. I keep forgetting that part of the pattern he has and just screw up. But it's a fun game, pretty old-school and reminiscent of old street hit-em-up games.
Yeah, definitely harder than Mario Bros. Plus the Bowser castles were much more hard and the cloud world especially. (8th world)
Did you used to play it on the NES or the SNES All-Stars version? Likely it was very hard for you guys if you played the NES version which I am guessing has no save function.
