I started using Yahoo's free PIM tools (Calendar, Notes, Address Book,
etc) and find it as a nice alternative to the Palm Desktop.

Some benefits:
- Off-site backup
- Can sync to several devices (more than one Palm/PocketPC)
- All your info is available via web
- Can view all PIM info from my.yahoo.com

Cons:
- Your potentially private info is now on the web
- Doesn't have a one-one relationship to all Palm fields but it's
quite good

It includes a free Intellisync conduit to sync to Palm/PPC. Also nice
if you add the Yahoo toolbar in Explorer, which can give you instant
access to the PIM tools.

Downsides:
- Only works in Windows, orphaning off OSX, Linux and Unix users
- Passes username and password in the clear across the Internet
- Uses a non-portable SyncML derivitive, instead of the standard
