Hello folks.

Has anyone found any of the following Seagate Barracuda hard drive models to be significantly subjectively noisier than the others?

Are all the 7200.7's and V's just as quiet and "pleasant sounding" as the IV's?

(I feel like I've many times read that the IV's are very quiet.)

Barracuda IV (Ultra ATA/100)
Barracuda V (Ultra ATA/100, Serial ATA)
Barracuda 7200.7 (Ultra ATA/100, Serial ATA)

Thanks much!

well i have had both IV and V (pata)

and to me they are both the quietist part of my computer.

they are pretty good but since they are the only drives i have ever owned i don't know the average.

they are quieter than all these components of my PC.

the monitor (yep its loud)
the power suply
the Vid card
the DVD drive
the CD drive
the fans
the Norhtbridge fan

BASICLY my computer has such loud things that the HDD seem VERY quiet

p.s. the 80 and 120GB drives are both also quieter than my old
4Gb drive

hope that helps
