Simple question; sorry for the long post. Does this Compaq Presario notebook I'm looking at have a decent chipset? It's model 2100z with Athlon 1800+. Compaq tells me the chipset is: "ATI U2 ALI 1535+".

Can't find any info anywhere about a "U2" from ATI, but on page 5 of the Tom's test of a Radeon IGP320M in an Athlon notebook, it mentions the chipset has a "Code Name" of U1 -- can we infer the identity of the "U2" from this?

Just asking out of curiosity -- maybe a bit of a moot point since I know I want the Athlon because I only do number-crunching, no games, no graphics, no 3-D AND need to hold the cost down. But I just learned today that (1) there's little point in having a good processor if the chipset sucks and (2) some music software that I want (but don't need) to use runs badly on bad chipsets, and it'd be nice to know beforehand.

thanks much
