I have a Treo 600, about 2 weeks ago a small orange squiggle showed up
on the screen in the position of where the "hangup all" icon appears.
The squiggle appears to be getting bigger...not in width but in
length. I have not had time to take it to the Sprint store yet but
will soon. I was just wondering if anyone else has seen this and if
there is any way to get rid of it on my own. It looks like it was
drawn on with a stylus.
Thanks for any help or insight.

I guess from the lack of any response no one has come across this. In
case it happens to anyone else, this is what I found out from the
Sprint tech. When I showed it to them the tech said he had seen it
once before...it was screen bleed over. He said it would have
continued to get larger and did not really know why it happened with
that distinctive "man made" look squiggle. They immediatly replaced
the entire unit without question and I was on my way in 20 minutes. A
very nice transaction with a company that had a bad rep. with customer
service

These kinds of moments are why I've defended the SPCS
system. The tools and options are in place to enable
Sprint workers to create a truly customer-centric
experience. Where Sprint has fallen down is in being less
than eager to train employees in those tools and how to
utilize them.

I'm glad Sprint PCS helped you out & quickly replaced your phone.

Not to take any credit away from Sprint Customer Service, but I expect
*PART* of the reason you were out of there quickly with a replacement phone
& not undergoing the third-degree about whether you somehow abused the
broken one is because of the large amount of problems the Treo 600s have
had.

I'm on my third one in less than a year. After the first one went bad, I
had to convince the tech that it did so without any negligence on my part.

By the time the second one went bad (again, all on it's own...), the
customer service person swapped it out without asking me many questions, and
even volunteered that the Treo 600 was the most problematic phone Sprint
sold.

I'm sorry you have had so many problems with this model...very sorry.
I know you put out a few bucks for this and I hope this is not a
glimpse of the future for mine. May I ask what problems you have had?

I guess I must have been lucky. I've got my original Treo 600 that I
purchased in February. Nary a problem.

When I worked at Sprint, one of the most common causes of
problems with the Treo (and I'm talking Vision, since
that's where I worked) was simply due to the time/date not
being updated.

Being a Palm, it gave the user the ability to set that time
and date. But if it wasn't in synch with network time, the
phone would fail to authenticate on Vision. I wonder if
this isn't causing problems on the voice side as well.
