I am ordering new core parts for my system and i have a question that i am still scratching my head. I am going to order a ASUS P4PE/L, Intel P4 2.53 (I use apps that can use SSE2 support). My friend has this combo and with corsair xms 512MB 64MX64 PC-2700LL memory. He is running the memory in async mode at 370mhz with very aggresive memory timings of 2-2-2-5-T1.

My question is I can buy 1GB of PC2700 Crucial memory for the same price as 512mb of nice corsair memory. The app I use most is Ashrons Call 2 would i be better of to get 1GB of memory and disable windows paging file as there is alot of paging that occurs with AC2 with 512 of memory and run the 1gb of memory without aggressive memory timings and speed?

Thanks in advance

Unless you are interested in overclocking specifically, then just go for the 1 gig crucial. I run 1 gig crucial and you can run agressive timings at its rated speed with no problem...

To err is human... to really screw things up you need a computer!
