Anyone else have a problem downloading 10025? My 4500/5500 was flagged and
I've gone through the motions several times with *2 etc but each time Claire
declaires success I still have 10024.

TIA

There has been major problems on Sprint's end with the OTA updating
process since 10015 was released. It's not your phones that's at fault
it's Sprint's system.

I have 10025 on both of my phones. Still, everytime I call Claire, she
tells me that an upgrade is available and then I have to wait through
the pretend download. When a download is really occurring, the phone
says "programming" or some such. It says nothing with the phony
downloads. I indicated this to them the last time I called, but I was
transferred to second level support which had unlimmitted hold times, so
I just hung up!

Sometimes rebooting the phone will show the new PRL.

I was able to get 10025 on my Sanyo 8200 just fine. That is, after going
through the usual hoops trying to find someone at Customer Care who
realizes PRL updates are not a bad thing...

I have found that occasionally even though Claire tells you the update is
finished, it's really not, and you need to talk to Claire for a few minutes
(check your balance or something) in order for it to finish. Try that...

I agree with Steve. I've learned to wait until Claire starts reading me
the Main Menu before I end the call. I have 10025 on 4 phones.

This would be the PERFECT time for me to go off on another rant about
Sprint's continued hatred toward the whole PRL upgrade concept... but I
won't. :)

The reboots are not automatic on the Samsungs. Only other brands.

I took my VM4500 to the Sprint Store yesterday to get the Firmware and
PRL updated. When they returned it to me, nothing, including the PRL,
had been updated. I called *2, just to see if they had flagged my
account for an update, and they had, but just like Jack, the update is
never applied. I am just left with 10023.

As others have suggested, I have tried talking to Claire for a little
while, etc. but nothing. I have gotten OTA updates on this phone
previously without a problem. Also, once the update is "complete" and
I end the call, the phone does not automatically reboot as it has in
the past. I can only assume that Sprint is having a problem on their
end.

Just look at your phone. It indicates that it is being "programmed" and
it indicates when it is finished. I have found that my Samsung and
Sanyo phones all ended their updates when Claire said they were
finished. Sometimes, it takes a reboot of the phone for the update to
show.

Aren't the reboots automatic? At least that, that's what I've noticed
everytime I've done a PRL upgrade OTA.

Not on my A680 it wasn't. I seem to recall one of my other phones
rebooting automatically in the past, but I don't recall which [probably
the Sanyo phones].

I was always under the assumption that ...
prompted or not.. a power off/power on cycle is necessary to see the new PRL
level...

Also, I've always made some assumptions...
- You always need some 'free memory'... otherwise where is the workarea for
the new PRL while downloading?
- Phones are 'slow processors' - Don't be in a hurry to reboot....

Luckily, for me the Sanyo 5300 seems to automate the process after the PRL
download begins...
You can stay on *2 as long as you want.. but as soon as your end.... you
WILL reboot... no choice involved!!
