Windows 7 activation

Hello,
I have installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and the product key doesn't work anymore but that is not the issue. I was wondering if I could purchase a cheaper version i.e. Home Premium and enter that product key into the windows activation window that pops up.
an expedient reply would be appreciated as I have 11 days left to activate Windows

If I choose to buy another copy of Windows (Home Premium) would I have to uninstall everything and start again with Home Premium?

Keys dont stop working unless one of the following has occurred...

- The key was activated on another computer
- The key is for an illegal copy of Windows
- The key if for another version of Windows 7 (Home, Premium, etc)
- The key is for an upgrade version of Windows 7 and a previous version of Windows wasn't on your computer when Windows 7 was installed.
- The key is for Windows 7 SP1 and you dont have a copy w/SP1 or vise versa

You forgot, you changed hardware in your computer and Microsoft doesn't trust you anymore.

Why is everbody being so coy about this...

He downloaded the ILLEGAL version of Ultimate and as everyone knows , the ILLEGAL key generator doesnt work....

So to the OP... GO BUY A LEGAL VERSION....!!
