network printer not working :-(

Hi,

I have the MN-100 base station... I just enherited an HP
Laserjet 4 plus in super great shape... it has a
jetdirect card (Network card) and so i hooked it up...
the base station light comes on and even flashes on the
base station connection i connect it to... but it is not
working... And, to confuse me even more -- if i unplug
it from the base station, it gives me a network error...
once i connect it again, it goes to ready... so in some
mannor the base station knows the printer is hooked up
and the printer knows it is hooked up too... but it
doesn't work... when i go to the network utility, the
printer is not listed...and i make it refresh network
devices... and it still doesn't show up. and also the
printer had ip adx of 0.0.0.0 and then i hooked it to the
base station and now it has 192.0.0.192

why can't i get this to work??? am i doing something
wrong? is it the jetdirect card??? please help as i am
frustrated as He$%&
