Hi all
I was about to buy a liteon dvd drive, but it has come to my attention that the cd-rw dvd readers have a similar price, my cd-rw is an old sony 4x/2x, so are these combo drives a good choice? could you recommend a specific drive or an article about it? thanks. Just in case I wasn´t clear, I´m not looking for a dvd burner, just reader.

The best combo drive you can buy now is Samsung SM-348B (48x/24x/48x/16x). It costs $72 at newegg.

If you can wait one month, then you can buy a LiteOn combo drive of same speed. This drive should ae as good as Samsung and cost $55 to $65

I have both the liteon dvd and burner. one would assume that liteon could put the two together sucessfully for a kickass drive.

wait a bit for the liteon combo unit
