It's time to go ahead and upgrade my phone. I'm leaning against getting
the Sprint rebate right now because I don't like that they force you to
sign up for the Vision plan. 2 years of that is $360, which negates
the rebate.
Anyway, I've been looking on Ebay. I've always liked my Samsung
phones, I currently have the A500 and the N200. It seems though that
most of the ones on sale on Ebay are Sanyo's. Are Samsung and Sanyo of
comparable quality?
I'm looking to spend around $150 either on Ebay or at Costco. Does
anyone have a recommendation for a particular phone?
Also, you can still take pictures and use them on the phone without the
vision plan right?

You know, you could just cancel Vision after the two month trial is up.
Then it'll cost you nothing.

You can cancel Vision long before the two month trial is up and you will still
get the discount, as long as you let them put the trial on your account in the
first place. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt.

You would have to cancel the vision *before* the free trial period
is over, not after, or you will be locked in for the balance of the
Advantage Agreement.

???
So if I add Vision now, six months into my two-year contract, I'm locked in for
the balance of the contract? How exactly does that work?

No, you are not. If you don't cancel it it simply charges $15/month
until you *do* cancel it. Vision, all by itself, has no relationship
whatsoever to Advantage Agreements. It's simply an additional
prerequisite for the New For You upgrade rebate.

That is definitely NOT true!

Vision should be sold as $10 and not the misleading $15 fee that they
offer unless you say NO. The extra $5 is for the supposed free
downloads that they offer you ... yet when I tried to utilize them I was
charged! I cancelled Vision and through some haggling was offered the
$10 Vision and there is indeed no difference to me.

Yeah. You download, get billed, and ask for the download credit and receive it.
I did it on my Vision trial. They'll give it to you, but it's not automatic.

No, the only difference should be the lack of download credit.

Here's an interesting variation. I don't have Vision on my primary phone,
but do have it on my secondary (add-a-phone) for only $5 per month.
Just tell them you want the $25 add-a-phone plan (which includes
Vision) instead of the standard $20 add-a-phone.

Odd, it *is* on my bill, and I didn't have to ask for it. I downloaded
two apps last billing cycle, and the charges are listed along with a
separate $5.00 credit for the Vision pack.

How do you figure that? The requirement is to sign up for Vision, which
is free for the first two months. You can cancel Vision anytime within
that free trial period and it won't cost you a dime.
