Hi all...

I just bought my second Maxtor 80gig 8mb drive and want to RAID the two. I've been researching RAID ATA133 controller cards for some time. I've noticed that I can pick one up for as low $18 to as high as $130. Can anyone give me some recommendations on a good value priced card?

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

HighPoint RocketRAID 133.

 Good or Bad have no meaning at all, depends on what your point of view is.

If you only want a RAID 0 or RAID 1 array, then one of the cheap Promise or Highpoint cards should be fine. If you want a RAID 5, then 3ware controllers are the best. They are more expensive, but they have an advantage in performance, CPU usage and rebuilding time in case of disk failure.
