Hi Brett, thank you for responding. The error occurred when I downloaded Microsoft Office 2010 and tried to install it. x17-7588.exe is the file and the error code is 0x80070017. I discovered it when I attempted to back-up my drive. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Tony
