Keep in mind I don't have much of a history with the Settlers franchise,
which is reflected in my review. I've spent a little time with Settlers 2
and that's about it, and it was so long ago I don't remember it.
For short attention span people:
Formulaic RTS with great graphics and sound, concentrates on settlement
building rather than combat, and probably is more geared for newbies to RTS
or for city-builder game fans.
For one thing, it doesn't help that Ubisoft has treated this game like a
red-headed step-child. The game isn't that old and the only mention of it
on UBI's home page is a one-liner in the "Downloads" links. Click the "PC
Games" link and it has a one-liner blurb there.
Also I have no idea why this got rated "Teen" on ESRB. I mean, there's VERY
little violence, unless it comes in spades late in the campaign. One of my
friends has a 9 year old boy who LOVES this kind of gameplay. He'd eat it
up.
