Windows 8 Pro upgrade gone wrong!!?

my system restore is not working after I upgraded from windows 8 home to windows 8 pro, the key code did not work and now im stuck in an inactivated windows 8 pro!, how do I go back to windows 8 home without wiping everything, and windows restore apparently has no restore points even though it sais it has used 5 GB of space and I made multiple restore points prior to the upgrade?

Try Windows Refresh, if your key is genuine it should activate Windows. On your Start Screen, type 'Refresh' and from Settings choose 'Refresh your PC'. You will lose all your installed apps apart from those from M'soft store, but no data will be lost
