From what I have read on these forums and past experience, when it comes to PSUs you just cant trust product marketing about noise levels.

I recently tried the 400W "quiet" PSU from www.QuietPC.com. Quiet nothing. In my current system it is louder than all the other components put together...including 6 case fans. (In case anyone is wondering where it came from the badge says its from "Q Technologies".)

Has anyone had any personal experience or know of a good quiet PSU of 400W+ ?
(or even a review of quiet PSUs would be good...

I have good experience with Enermax PSU. It is very quiet and very reliable.

I have a Antec Trueblue 480, its quite. It has a fan speed controler built into it. Fan usually runs about 1600 rpm.

Specs:
ASUS A7N8X dlx
Athlon XP 2000+
512mb Corsair PC3500
ATI 9500 pro
Antec Trueblue 480 psu

My Enermax PSU also got a fan speed controler which is quite effective in cutting down the noise.

I'd skip Enermax. I've got one (365 with autoadjust fan)and, while it's not extremely loud, quiet it ain't. The Antec supplies above 350w are a bit quieter.

Currently, the cheap quiet supply of choice on silentpcreview.com is the Fortron/Sparkle/Aopen FSP350-60PN. It comes with a slow 120mm fan and is considered very quiet by the quietfreaks over there. It also retails for ~$45 US. If you can't find the 350, newegg sells the FSP300-60PN. Also, tomshardware rated the Fortron/Verax/etc/etc PSUs very highly for safety and power delivery in its PSU review a while back.
