Hi,

I am on DSL with 6Mbps currently.
I am planning to change to cable. There is a plan for Basic Cable Internet
Download: 6Mbps Upload: 256Kbps.

I'm just wondering if cable 6Mbps is the same for what I'm using for DSL right now ?

And also, are there any cable modem routers ?
I currently have ADSL2+ modem router for DSL internet. Am I able to use the ADSL2+ modem router as a router to hook up to the cable modem ?

Thanks

While you can get combined cable modem/routers like a Motorola, I recomment getting a separate modem and router, as router technology is changing and you may want to upgrade in a year or two and the modem won't change for a long time.

You cannot use the DSL modem/router as a router for the cable unless it has an RJ45 WAN port, but all that I have seen have RJ11 WAN ports (telephone plug size). Depending on the specific model, you may be able to use the dsl modem/router as an access point, but it won't do routing.
