I have a Teac CD-540E 40x burner that won't seem to allow recordings with disc-at-once. Here are details about the problem:

- Burning mp3 files to CD. Done this many times without using DAO.
- Tried with EZ CD 5 Platinum and Nero 5.5. Doublechecked settings.

Same result with everything I've tried: There's a few second space before each track, as if I hadn't chosen to use DAO. I'm using ghetto Optimum CD-Rs, but the CD-R brand shouldn't make any difference as to whether or not DAO will work. I used to have an 8x Plextor that would burn with DAO all day long.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated. The TEAC claims to support DAO, but won't use it. I'd rather not have to buy another drive if it's not necessary.

Thanks,
Chris

I'll add a little more here..

Did a firmware upgrade on the Teac drive: 1.0b to 1.0k. Didn't make a difference. Either the hardware is croaked and nothing will fix it, or two otherwise reliable software packages are not working right. Hard to believe either scenario..
