Clean install from upgrade disc on new build

I have heard this can be done. I can get a free upgrade disc that was part of a 3-pack...the other 2 were used to upgrade from Vista.

Will it be possible to do a clean install on my new build once I get it done?

I think that Win7 is able to do clean installs from the upgrade disk, the disk just sees the OS and will give you the option to upgrade if it is compatable

Can anyone else verify that this will work? If I can do this, it will save me from buying a copy of Windows7 - Thanks in advance

What machine is this going on? If it's an upgrade disk you'll need a vista product key to upgrade from.

Legally, it's a no-go. Sorry.

You can perform a clean install from a Windows 7 upgrade version

this may help you!

But for doing that , you will have to own a valid previous copy of Microsoft Windows XP or Microsoft Windows Vista installed to validate the upgrade and activate the product key.
